Verdon Gorge: May 26 - 31, 2025
|
Planning a trip to the Verdon Gorge in France in late May and looking for interest in partners to meet and climb with, and plan out some days. I've been climbing for 15 years and experienced and safe with lots of outdoor experience. My typical sport grades are in the 10+ range, with a goal of continuing to train for this trip. My goal is to get out and climb a decent amount through the week, probably on more moderate climbs and maybe have a couple classics in mind. Happy to belay and share objectives. Open to other ideas, but thought this looked like a great destination. Jeff |

Hey Jeff I could be down. Do you know how you will arrive to Verdon? I went there a few years back and flew into Paris, took a train to Marseille where i met a friend that had a car and we drove from there. I assume you are planning to do multipitch? |

Hi Mike, Thanks for the reply. I will be in the Paris area the weekend before for a wedding and was going to take a train down to Marseille after, from there I was looking at either taxis or potentially a renting a car. I would be down to talk more and go over thoughts. Yes I am open to multi pitch. I was planning to have my itinerary and plan together this week. Jeff |

Renting a car might be the best idea. Taxis might not be possible due to the distance from the city. Verdon is all about multi-pitch and there is a nice camping venue to meet other climbers. At this moment i can entertain the idea of joining you but the logistics are a bit much for me b/c im stuck on the corporate clock these days and would only be able to get 7-10 days do this. At least I could provide you with some info on the area and try to find out the name of the camping field. |

Hello, I will be in France from April 1st - ? probably 3 months. I have a place to stay in Orpierre for the month of May, but I'd be willing to travel down to the VD if I knew I had a partner. I've been climbing for over 20 years and am usually comfortable on 10's and 11's depending on the area. For multipitch I'd probably drop the grade a little and do harder grades for single pitch. VG is a couple of hour from Orpierre by car. I will be studying French there while I'm there and a big goal of my trip is to improve my French. Are you open to climbing any other areas? |

HI, I could throw my hat into the mix - I am interested in some of the longer routes. I am flexible with dates, May sounds great. |
