They look like the replacement for Chimera but 2g lighter and not currently available in racking colors. Anyone using these yet? I can't find any reviews online.

I’ll resurrect my own thread. Aethers are now available in racking colors but I still haven’t gotten my hands on them, instead I managed to get some Chimeras and they make a great moderately lightweight, snag-free option, especially for alpine draws. I still prefer an ergonomic, full sized carabiner like Heliums or Alphas for racking since ease of clipping > lightweight in single pitch climbing. If I was weight averse and didn’t like nano 22s snagging every time I extended a cam sling, I’d be looking for a set of the Aethers.

I got to play with some, they're virtually identical to the chimera, the main difference is the rope bearing surface which is larger with the new aether so a bit kinder the on the ropes but really just an incremental improvement over the chimera.

Good to know. I’ve read marketing material about larger rope bearing surfaces reducing rope drag, but I suspect the effects are unnoticeable in the real world.

I see this statement:
If you have previously used the Chimera, you get slightly better ergonomics with its replacement due to an increase in dimensions both in the body and the gate opening, which has gone from 21mm on the Chimera to 23mm on the Aether.

The lack of a silver is still so disappointing. Gunmetal is not silver

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
