Skwama fit compared to katana lace

Hey, I’m thinking about getting the LS Skwama but am not able to try it on before purchasing. I own the LS katana lace and absolutely love the fit. If I love the fit of the katana, will I also be happy with the Skwama?

My understanding is that the Skwamas are a wide toe box fit, while katanas are the more standard LS fit. Solutions would probably have a more similar standard fit but there's way too many variables to really say. Only way to know is to try em on!

I would say Ryan is pretty spot on, the solution also has a pointier toe that will be more familiar coming from katana. The heel will certainly feel different but know it softens up and breaks in. 

Honestly it'd kind of hard to compare Skwamas and Katanas...they're radically different shoes. Katanas have a very different heel, are shaped on a different last, and are super stiff. Skwamas fit me reasonably well and Katanas don't. I don't think fitting Katanas means Skwamas won't fit, but I don't think fitting Katanas provides any info on whether Skwamas will fit.

Agree with everyone else that the skwama is a lot wider and the solution is probably closer in fit. FWIW the katana lace fits me really well and the skwama doesn't fit me at all. I wouldn't buy it unless you had the option to return it.

I have a pair of 42 white katana lace, 42.5 yellow katana lace, and 43 skwama. I tried 42 and 42.5 in the skwama and they fit very uncomfortably around the ball of my foot even though my toes weren't super bent or anything.

They're definitely different fitting shoes so ymmv as far as comfort

Consider the solution comp too as I feel it has a more similar heel to the katanas compared to the reg solutions. 

I wear a 40.5 white katana for hard multi pitches and a 40 solution comp feels great for bouldering.
