Are they still making Liquid Roc 500? |
|

Everybody's saying Liquid Roc 500 is discontinued. For example, the following comment at https://www.mountainproject.com/forum/topic/124727472/a7-gel-time-solutions#ForumMessage-124765415: "Spoke to MKT and they aren't making the 500+ anymore. They have a new product (800) coming out that will replace the 500+." Here's EP800: https://www.mktfastening.com/products/ep800-pure-epoxy |

Shawn Swrote: Are you not recommending due to the strength of T7+ or just due to the internal bag design? I’m new to bolting and have heard a lot of people use A7+. T7+ is pretty easy for me to get locally so I reached out to the manufacturer to ask what the major differences are and they sent me this. On paper it looks like the strength looks similar…but I literally just started bolting so I know very little at this point. |

C Vaughanwrote: 100% do not recommend any adhesive with the bag design, T7+ has the bag design, at least it did a year ago when I bought a tube. The internal bag design is less reliable, I've had a sika tube and a T7+ tube with internal bag ruin a couple glue jobs as the dispersion of hardener is not consistent out the bag, especially on a second use. This was fixed by re-cutting the bag and working out the opening but never worth my time again, cleaning half cured globby stuff is no fun and makes a mess. Bag style is fine when it works but I'd go back and check every placement carefully for color and consistency rather than just the testing the initial blob and the nozzle when done. Pretty sure A7+ is super good enough but I prefer AC100+ for its consistency, if rock is choosy go with an epoxy like EP800. Practice on some scraps at the ground before trying it on a rope! |

I used EP800 this weekend and it's almost as runny as the Simpson products. Anyone know of any epoxies that are thicker, like Liquid Roc 500+ was? |

Shawn Swrote: Good info! I have a tube of t7 that’s almost gone. Bolt placements look good as far as glue color and consistency. I’ll cut the tube open and see if the adhesive and hardener are in bags. I don’t want to run into a problem later down the road just because I got lucky using it this time. |

if you have to cut off the tip it is the bag type I am referring to |

Shawn Swrote: Got it. I’m pretty sure with T7 you unscrew the cap, screw on a mixing nozzle and go. I don’t remember cutting anything. |

I recall T7 comes pre-cut look under the cap and see if you see plastic bag like material coming out |
