What is your favorite PA bouldering spot?

Looking to take some road trips, I live in Bridgeport PA, so roughly 25 mins from Philly - 50 mins ish to haycock.. 3 hours from the gunks... PA seems to have tons of options for bouldering and im curious what other PA residents usually go to. Ideally want to stay out the Philly though.

Albeit much smaller than the Diabase Areas, Mocanaqua hosts a good collection of boulders are Squirrel Rock and is worth a day trip. I've been loving Rock Run, north of Williamsport, lately too.

This spot looks really nice, didn't know about it.

Would you say it's worth a three hour drive or is it more of a "local gem"?

I would say its worth it for a trip. What it lacks in quantity it makes up for in quality. 

Much appreciated fellas, I'm looking at haycock or governor dicks. Haycock being a little closer - is a hi his best good enough for haycock or do I need a full blaze orange jacket? 

Not High Rocks (Ralph Stover).  There is bouldering, but it is mostly not that great.  Haycock is the pick in eastern PA, IMO.  Bring some hunter orange.  A hat and vest would be good.  There are some hunters with guns and sometimes archers wandering those woods.  However, the vast majority of the hunters are good people and don't want to shoot you or even scare you.

ANF hands down. There's not much documentation. Some local development happening but you can also just walk into the woods with a brush and find really good stuff. Truly an under-appreciated gem, probably because so much stuff is equidistant or closer from the major metros of the region. Kind of a hike from Philly. But if you're looking for road trips anyways... it's ANF.

If you’re venturing this far west, the ANF has seen a lot of development and a good POC would be Chris Vermilyea. He’s always super stoked to show people around.

There’s also a legendary local gem in SWPA that the landowner requires us to not publish or interfere with the hunters during season. Good POCs would be Joel Brady or Brian McCall.

I don’t know if any of the guys listed above are on here, but they can be found on FB. 

Anyone free for a November 16th (Saturday) haycock trip? Never been there and only live 40 minutes from the spot.

Going by myself. I don't mind at all. I'm going to bring my usual set up. Two full pads, a half pad, a blubber and a slider.
