Found you looking for latest CB posts, so apologies if I’m in the wrong place. I’m looking for someone to bag some peaks with the week before Christmas. I’m particularly interested in Whetstone but I’m easy. I’m British (sorry) and have a fair bit of French Alps experience but no qualifications. Would love any ideas. I’d also be open to going with a guide. Many thanks, Simon

• Simon, December is a crap shoot. Likely some avalanche danger and if it’s avalanche danger, it would be a slog to summit Whetstone. Faceted, rotten snow or wind blown. I have skied Whetstone but in more spring conditions. That said, with global warming, could be a hike in December. Irwin guides is our local guide service
