I'm sure this is a recurring theme but would love to see everyone's home made gear. Rivet hangers, fifis, belay seats etc. :)

Here is my alfifi buckle to start!

Aid climbers are known for moving at Mach speed. No time to spare gotta post up while driving to the valley nawmean

Not the best closeup but check out our plywood belay seat bringing up the rear. My friend duct taped a kayak seat onto it (at least I think that's what it was). Pretty posh.

Cleaveland Mountaineering Custom 8.5 that my friend Jeremy made in 2010 and bequeathed to me. I've placed it on several desert towers.

True dat! Having been a welder for almost 50 years, i’ve always said that you can fix just about any crappy weld with a grinder. Thanks for making me laugh!!!

Looks amazing bro..

Curious how it turned out?

Field tests?

Any pro or cons to the original S.P?

Also did you put some time in with R.E?

Or affiliates?

Love/hate mine! I've put it thru the ringer, but I also climb to not fall.

But it does happen!

Unreal. Would love to know more about your process for building that.

I've always been confused by the SP design. I understand that it locks when it spins fast enough, but what is the actual moving part that locks the device?

Part of a care package I sent to a friend getting into aid.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
