Darrington/Exfo conditions
|

Visiting my family for a couple weeks and wanted to check out some climbs in the area, primarily on Exfo dome or green giant. Road okay? New rockfall? I'm somewhat familiar with the area already, but just putting out feelers since this isn't exactly prime season. Thanks in advance! |

People have been posting about going there and static point on the facebook groups and theres tics on mountain project. Seems like a great time to go before it gets too hot and you slide off like butter! |

Grant Adams wrote: Awesome, thank you Grant! That road beta is helpful, and I did notice some recent ticks but just figured I'd ask as well. Hoping to get out sometime next week, so I think it should be good! |

Roads are in standard summer shape, light 4WD to the 8-Mile trailhead or Granite Sidewalk wash. Unless you have a serious 4X4, you will not get much closer to Green Giant than that. |

Get after it! Was just out today to Exfoliation Dome. I think sun came over the ridge on us in the 10-10:30am range on Dark Rhythm, so you can get a fair bit done while still shaded if you start early. |

Daniel Heins wrote: Thanks Daniel, but we were actually the party you saw yesterday! Agreed, though, great conditions on the wall and approach. That sidewalk is looong. My partner is still breaking in her shoes - bad timing - so that wasn't a great option on the descent. We actually ended up going barefoot for the majority of the way down and it was way faster and surprisingly grippy! |
