Camp sites around Bishop in April

Hello, I planned on climbing around the Bishop area for a bit in early April, and I was wondering about the camping, probably up Pine Creek. If anyone has any info. I'd appreciate it. |

Hi JCM, I just want to be camped where I can access good climbing without driving too far. Not totally set on Pine Creek. It just looks like the highest density of routes. Are you from there? |

Owens is also a very high concentration of routes. Great dispersed camping in the pinyon forest just a few miles up the road from the climbing access point. |

Pine Creek has some snow, but it's not terrible. If you're planning on being in Scheelite, it's going to be shady/windy and cold. There's paid camping at the Pleasant Valley Pit, and dispersed above the tablelands. I'd recommend staying at one of those options, and commuting to the gorge (it's the season). |
