medicine bow edit. hit post limit, so here's the next one. a little more obscure... Hint: this volcano is often overlooked because about 10 miles south is the countries most popular peak |

Indeed. Clearly my mountain knowledge ends within a few miles of the nearest road. |

Well this is embarassing... after looking all around the Enchantments on Google Earth and being confused because it looked so familiar I finally went over to the Bugs and realized it was East Post Spire. Should have been obvs but the evening light made the lakes look less glacial to me. Nice picture. Here's my next one. Pretty obscure. It's the double rocky summit in the center of the photo. I'll check back after the weekend to provide a hint if needed. Also, it looks like we will need a Vol. 2 soon! Pretty sweet! |

Not gonna name names but there were people in this thread whose mountain ID skills are truly impressive. It’s not always clear if the knowledge is based on experience or research - maybe sometimes a bit of both? - but it seems like a righteous sort of knowledge to have. I think everyone who ponders the architecture of the peaks is a geographer. Sometimes it’s a geography of memories, sometimes it’s a geography of dreams. |

Well put. Its good to dream and dream big when you do. Sometimes it works out and dreams come true.then to the next one! |

Colden - thanks for starting this thread, it's been a lot of fun (I won't comment on wasted time ) and I'm looking forward to more. Here's a hint for my last one since we haven't had any guesses yet... It's in the Western Lower 48. |
