Name that mountain

Nice! I’ve been daydreaming about a Jordan trip for so long. One of these years…

Here’s a popular one from an unusual angle. Should be a quick one regardless. What’s the closer-in formation and where am I taking this from?

Well - it's Ciavazes, with a couple of Sella Towers peering round the end, and with Sassolungo in the background. Taken from Pordoi. But can you or somebody else post again because I think I've run out of old color prints of mountains that I can re-photograph to post on here!

Edit. Just remembered that I posted this shot in the 'spot the route' thread a couple of years ago. It's a bit of the long rightward traverse on the 'Big Micheluzzi' which climbs the lower wall up to the 'Gamsband', that long inclined terrace that crosses the whole face. Pordoi in the background.

Yep, I think Pordoi has the best views in the Dolomites. Plus you get to take the cable car down if you top out in time.

Here’s one for the desert folks. I was concerned with the waterfall when taking this, but what’s the peak behind it?

edit: yep, great white throne indeed. Beckey route goes up the prow, I believe

Not Juriques but indeed it is the Laguna Verde, so I'll give it to you. Answer was the other volcano next to it, Licancabur.

Many thanks for the grace, us mere mortal "name that mountaineers"  appreciate the wiggle room.

The peak on the horizon is too easy for ya'll so let's go for this still noteworthy peak marked.  One more easily identified while viewing from the west.

Right range.  Wrong side of the crest.

Not Goode Mountain.  Slightly warmer.

Not Bonanza.

Same aspect, but from a peak a few miles closer and in proper winter conditions:

Nice Mike. Indeed it is Sloan.  You're up.
