Will pay - seeking flat van parking spot Summerlin or Blue Diamond Nov 23 - Dec 3

We are visiting Vegas to climb and seeking stable van parking accommodations. :) Happy to pay you, and pay extra to use your shower occasionally.

I am not looking for other lodging advice, i.e. - group campsites, BLM land towards Pahrump, or sleeping in random neighborhoods and hoping for the best. Also already checked Vanly. Aware of these options and seeking specifically info on only the request above.

Thanks so much for your consideration!

Where do you go to the bathroom?

John has "Where do you go to the bathroom?" permanently copied to his clipboard so he can respond with it rapid fire.

I'm just highlighting the fact that when these van lifers casually ask to park in your driveway, what they are really asking for is bathroom privileges. This is where the van life fails. They could literally park their $60,000+ rig wherever they want around town, but it gets awkward real quick when nature calls. Does the original poster really think that people would gladly let her in their homes to poop for what $5 a day? So gross - and not glamorous at all.

No disrespect intended John, but a lot of van owners I know have porta potties with either tanks or wagbags to contain waste. I completely share your concern about people who poop outside or don’t have a good method to deal with this inevitable issue.

The van owner could just offer the information about bathroom facilities. (or the driveway owner could ask) when seeking a spot. That would be easy enough. Seems like a reasonable concern.

Erin (OP), do you have bathroom capability in your van? (no answer = probably not)

In a place like Vegas, you’re also almost never more than 5 minutes from a public bathroom.  Obviously human waste is an issue in a lot of places people van camp, but it’s a weird one to fixate on in this context as it’s so easy to negotiate boundaries ahead of time.

It’s kinda like on the for sale forum when someone is like ‘I’d never pay that price for that item!’  Cool. That’s totally fine, but then why post about it?

Agree with Terry and Max here. It's really unnecessary to spam the same non-issue on every single van-related post.

Some people just want a quiet spot to sleep in their vehicle which is damn hard to come by in Vegas.

90% of the time I don't have anywhere near 5 minutes upon waking.

To the OP: just get a room already.

Asking because you’re interested in offering a parking place, or just to troll?

Who wants to poop in the vansion??? "Hey babe, better put the pillow over your head for a few while I drop the kids off in the bucket" sounds pretty glamorous to me!

Most houses in Vegas have rocks in the front yard landscaping and we all know that poop under a rock vanishes from existence so the bathroom question isn’t an issue.

Erin, I have had good luck finding affordable RV parking for my truck camper on Hipcamp.com.   Not sure specifically what might be available through them in the Vegas area, but it's another option worth checking if you haven't already.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
