Hey all,

My partner and I have recently moved to the North Conway area and have been looking for climbing friends and just community in general since we’ve arrived with limited success.

So my question to you: Where is the local climbing community in North Conway? Specifically those in the their mid 20s/early 30s.

Normally we would climb at a local gym to make friends but as that is not currently an option we’re struggling to find other alternatives.

If you haven't already stop into IME.  They should be able to point you in the right direction.  Otherwise get on route at Cathedral on a weekday when the locals are climbing there.

Go to the crag on a day when nobody but locals would be there. Sundown when it's raining and terrible conditions, or the cathedral cave, on a weekday.

Just put a bolted anchor on top of a route as bait. When the locals come to chop it, feign ignorance and offer them a beer and a belay on Edge of the World.

There's a great crew of locals there! Sundown is a good bet on rainy days. Evans notch area in the fall.

Thanks for the responses everyone! Sounds like some good suggestions that we will try!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
