Sherpas Needed!
|

A few of us geezers are heading up to Lone Pk Cirque this tuesday morning (August 2nd). Need a good hiker or two to help haul some loads up. Please call to discuss. Brian |

Yeah, geez...don't they know someone with a helicopter? Ha ha... Bet, given the weather, it's been a bit spicy up there. |

Where are all the super fit young bucks/ladies missing out on a good opportunity. I would help, but I am very likely in way worse shape than the group needing the help (not saying they are out of shape, they just want to hang in comfort). Come on young-ins! These dudes put up the routes you climb on! Full supporter of the sherpa service. Paco pad for sleeping...check. I once procured sherpa services for a solo of crown of creation. I found a strapping 18 year old to carry gear up there. Maybe its time for a doordash style app for carrying gear? I sure hope people can skip their cross fit session and help these dudes out! |

Andy Shoemakerwrote: Thanks for the quick lesson. You'll have to forgive the choice of vocabulary, I assure you the nicest guy in the Wasatch isn't trying to belittle any culture. |

Andy Shoemakerwrote: Oh Andy.... If it bothers you so much... Why not just contact Brian direct? Maybe talk to him? You would probably find out he's the most kind and respectful people you have ever ran across. Instead you just had to be a jack ass from outside the community to show everyone how much better you are than us uneducated hay seeds here in Utah. |

Tom Horewrote: Eh, give Andy a break. He's only a 33 year old child. |

Knowing Brian, those packs probably involve being full of steel for more routes... |

Tom Horewrote: Tom, are you doing ok? Seems like an unusual response a whole month after the fact. If having the difference between an occupation and an ethnicity, neutrally pointed out to you is a “jack ass” move… I dont know what to tell you but I’m confident I’m not the one with the issue here. Hope you’re able to find the support you need in life. |

I'm doing great. Sorry, for my absence from this forum....I've been up in Tensleep climbing (I was "porting" my own bags. Granted not quite the march to those cliffs as Lone Peak.) and bouldering some in LCC in the evenings. Thanks for asking. |

In the near future people will use drones to transport gear as well as their fat asses so they can "climb" |
|
|
Yeah...they're called helicopters. Recall someone got in a wee bit of trouble... |

its just kinda lame to get porter to haul your shit up for you get strong so you can do it yourself or not at all. |

|
no who? |

Alex Mankouskiwrote: You should probably spend some time in the various guidebooks for the region, as well as a few other publications. |

Even if OP wasnt a local legend its still a short sighted comment that clearly comes from someone who is new to the sport (many reasons to need help hauling gear), has never been injured or faced their own mortality, and is arrogant. |

i dident meen any hard feeling to op but i feel like to a certian extenit you lose a lot of the adenture when you just get someone else to do one of the big parts aof alpine limbing its like how people comlain about people using guide and porters on everst but onlike everst were porter are a nessiety(there has only ever been one person to climb everst without porter and even he got his wife to help him carry stuff to base camp 2) but in this situoation porter are not required and i can be done without it |
