Want to learn how to multi pitch, trad climb, or climbing basics?

My name is Jon Matthews and I live in Colorado Springs. I take people out for free who want to learn new climbing skills. I have 8 years of climbing experience, 3-4 years of trad climbing, 5-6 years of multi pitch, and 1 year of big wall experience. Reach out if you’re interested! |

Jonathan Matthewswrote: Creepy. |

Greg Dwrote: Seems neat to me. I do the same quite a lot. I would advertise it possibly same as this guy but I don't seem to have a dearth of people already asking me to teach them stuff. |

Greg Dwrote: What makes this creepy? Lol |

Jonathan Matthewswrote: Hi. I’m an expert guitarist. If you are a beginner guitarists I’d be happy to find you on the internet, then meet you in a park to teach you FOR FREE. Hi. I’m an expert skier. If you are a beginner skier I’d be happy find you on the internet, then meet you in a park to teach you FOR FREE. Hi. I’m an expert FILL IN WHATEVER. If you are a beginner FILL IN WHATEVER I’d be happy find you on the internet, then meet you in a park to teach you FOR FREE. Seeking less experienced people on the internet to teach for free is flat out CREEPY!!! Totally different from teaching a friend or a friend of a friend. |

Greg Dwrote: Meh, your post is more creepy than the OP. Plus, it’s Colo Springs, so it’s cool. |

Sorry, I only go in for Dave Matthews |

Greg Dwrote: Well I’ve had people reach out and we got some good trad practice in. Just a genuine offer to do for others what people did for me |

Not creepy at all, and if I lived closer I'd take you up on it in a heartbeat. Sounds like somebody got too many stranger danger talks as a kid. |

Hey Jon what’s up? I’m Haven from alabama and will be up in Colorado for a few days. Always wanted to do a multi pitch. I’ll be able to climb in from the 31st-5th and will be staying in Arvada. Lemme know if that works for you and you wanna climb |

What a weird sentiment a few of you have… Jon is a good guy just trying to help people access the sport. What’s wrong with that? I climbed with him in South Platte early July actually. The information crammed into the half day was extensive and the emphasis on safety was paramount. I’d highly recommend taking him up on this offer if you’re interested in expanding your climbing as a beginner. Was just a good day out of learning and climbing. |

Greg Dwrote: My main partner these days, a woman in her mid-40s who’s been climbing for 15+ years and has a ton of experience in the alpine, just randomly said to me a couple days ago, “I kinda wanna pass on some climbing knowledge to newer climbers.” I’ve known her for a few years and she hasn’t creeped on me! |
