Heads up, you'll lose your SPI if you guide multipitch rock. Gotta adhere to SOP if you want to stay in the organization.

Where can I find that rule on MP?

I've seen people advertising their inventions (bolt pullers) for sale, recommending guide services, their Airbnb, etc., so why would advertising your own guiding business be different?

OP, you clearly put a lot of effort into writing your advertisement and I can respect that, at least. Best of luck to you with your profession.

It is part of their terms of service. You can find it by clicking the Terms link all the way at the bottom of the page.

Someone recomending a guide service is a little different than starting a new post advertising your own guide service. Probably still against the rules, but probably  let it slide when its in the context of a thread and people are asking for recomendations.  As for the bolt pullers and AirBnB, they shouldn't be doing those either.

3. RESTRICTIONS

You agree not to, and will not assist, encourage, or enable others to use the Service to:

  • Promote a business or other commercial venture or event, or otherwise use the Service for commercial purposes, except as expressly permitted by the Company;

The bolt puller thing was a “How to” not a product.

Thanks for pointing that out. MP has been pretty lax about enforcing it.

Not my experience, but MP does need to be notified. It's not like they have someone watching the forums 24/7.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
