Going to hike Alta Via 1, but cant leave that place without climbing. Looking at guides its over 300 Euro for 1 day so throwing this out there. not sure where else to look here.

There are a couple of Facebook groups for traveling climbers to find partners. They seem popular with Europeans

Hi Adam! I was actually about to do a post just like this!! I’ll be in the Dolomites (Cortina and Val Gardena area Sep 4-26th. I’ll be mainly doing via ferratas, hiking and mountain biking but I don’t want to leave without climbing as well! I was there about 4 years ago- it’s amazing. Im looking to sport climb at a few areas ( ex: Saas Dlacia and Sella pass) Im usually comfortable leading mid-11’s but will follow whatever.

What dates do you have available to climb?

Ill be done with the Alta Via 1 on September 12th. I lead around 5.9, and follow to 10b/c. Are you bringing a rope? I’m planning to bring some basic gear.

With just a 50/60 and some draws you can do a number of routes in the Sassolungo area comfortably, which all have stupid-short approaches and stellar views. That's probably your best bet - most other bolted/'sport' multi-pitch routes outside that area are better with a little supplemental gear on the easier pitches.

Resurrecting this old thread--I'm going to be doing Alta Via 1 with family this September. Anyone have good ideas for scrambles/via ferratas I can do solo around Cortina or while out on the hiking route? We have a layover day at Refugio Scotoni, so something accessible from there would be extra great. Thanks!

I wish!

Do ferrata lipella (lipelli?) on tofana di rozes.  Long day but mellow and fun for a rock climber, even solo.  Cool summit.  Lots of cool history from wartime too, it includes a tunnel part (headlamp, bring one).

Cinque torri is more real rock climbing but feels like an open air museum with all the cool towers and there is at least one that u can scramble to top of with 4th or very low 5th moves.  Also cool military trenches there.  And u gotta ply yourself with cappucino and beer at the refugios whenever possible.

jealous of you, dolomites in cortina area are the most beautiful mountains ive ever seen and those plugs of limestone shooting skyward from earth frequent my dreams.  Let us know how it goes!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
