Help with Arcteryx Shell jackets sizing

Hi all,

My Local REI only has the Arcteryx  Gamma LT jacket in the store.

The Medium is a little too small, and the Large is too roomy.

My Question: Do the other Arcteryx models (Beta, Alpha or other Gamma versions) size a little differently, so a Medium is bigger or the Large is smaller, so one of them will fit me better? Jackets with Goretex or Goretex Pro.

.....hope the question makes sense!

The Gamma SL, now the Gamma Lightweight, should have a slightly slimmer fit.

Thanks Elijah!

I should have mentioned jackets with Goretex.

Gotcha! Just reread the original post. The Beta will run quite a bit looser than the Gamma LT. The Gammas are trim on me but the Beta LT has ample space for layering. I tried sizing up to a large and was drowning in hard shell. Both REI and Arc have great return policies–try a medium out for size. The Alpha I believe runs trimmer than the Beta because it’s geared more towards climbing but should still offer room for layers.

Both the Alpha and Beta will run looser than Gamma. Even the Squamish as well is just a tad bit roomier fit compared to same size. The LTs are a bit more slim -id consider Beta AR or SV.

Alpha is roomy, but more so up top (a climber's upside-down trapezoid cut)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
