Current weather and condys

Hey all does anyone have the beta on Pine Creek Canyon or just the most recent status of the rock? Extra thank you if you know the conditions of the jetstream wall or crimson chrysalis

Everything in the canyons got completely soaked with several inches of rain and will not be dry this weekend, even sunny walls.  Stick to limestone for tomorrow and then sunny areas in the Calico hills should most likely be dry enough to climb by Sunday.

Haven't been out there myself so can't comment with accuracy but I would think the boulders should be okay by Sunday.  The hills and Kraft didn't get as much rain but they still got a lot.

I was watching from the high way for a bit the other day and could hear the rain from a mile or so away. Do you know if Henderson/big sandy has anything under v4?

I live here Vincent and could see the absolute downpour in the mountains all day for two days from work.  This graphic should tell you all you need to know.  I'm missing out on opportunities this weekend as well so you're not the only one inconvenienced.

Also there is this thing called the internet where I have seen many videos of people hiking in RR along normally bone dry trails which are basically rivers right now.

Yes, its still very wet out there... Wet as in the rock is wet inside. Many areas the rock surface will look dry.

My team is flying from FLA tonight till next Saturday, closely watching all the weather. We have no desire to do the tourist thing and climb on "Dry-enough" rock without really knowing it's solid. Just a few questions to set our expectations. 

- Seems like we'll be able to confidently hit Calico area Sunday-Monday? Any crags to avoid in that area?

- We we're considering trying for CItH(pine creek) Monday (4 days or so since last weeks rain).. But reading over posts, it sounds like the canyons are gonna be a no go for the next week, especially with more rain forecast Tues-Wed. Is it even worth hiking out on Monday to check, or should we just assume it's wet?

- Is this amount of weather at all normal for March/April? We thought we picked a fairly good time of year based on historical weather data.

We've got lots of other plans for Gun Club, Keyhole, etc. Great to see Desert Rock Sports so active in the community! I'm sure we'll swing by for some limestone guides.

Boss seems to think sun baked calico stuff should be OK today. I personally think Sunday is safer.

He and I still think that a lot of the canyon stuff is more questionable. Different aspects not getting as much sun, higher elevation (cooler temp, hit with more precip), more runoff from above, etc... Some stuff may be OK today (not that it matters me saying it now, your not going to go do some big multi at noon), more tomorrow.

Sounds like tomorrow we'll have a nice full day on the north side of the loop. Maybe we'll try to head out to Pine Creek first thing Monday morning and see how it is...

Make the most of Sunday and Monday, as its going to absolutely rain a bunch Tuesday... and likely Wednesday... and possibly a little on other days too.
