Heading to Mt. Shasta for the holidays. Never toured in the area and would like to get out with my dog. I know the Mt. Shasta Wilderness Area doesn't allow dogs; anyone got suggestions of a fire road or mellow skin in the general area? Thanks in advance.

You should be able to tour out the road to old Ski bowl and up towards seargents ridge which is outside of wilderness boundary.  Another option is Castle Lake on the west side of I-5.

Good amount of touring out of Bunny Flat. Gray Butte is another nice option out of there.https://www.shastaavalanche.org/announcements/motorized-and-dog-use-retrictions-map-mt-shasta Snowman's Hill area is also super mellow and may fit the bill.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
