What should I fill in the middle with for ice climbing and alpine routes in the white mountains?  I've used the BD punishers in seasons past but found their fit to suck for me and weather resistance was sub-par.  I've been trying on OR and the fit has been better for me than BD.

My white mountains glove rack was:

La Sportiva Tech glove with liners (coldest lead glove)

Wool Mittens with Liners

MH Hydra pro gloves (waterproofest driest lead glove)

MH exposure 2 glove (similar to above but less warm and more dextrous)

BD terminators

OR alibis.

I have a lot of nice gloves. I have long fingers and don't like feeling clumsy. My favorite of these for the zone you're asking about is probably the exposure glove. They're really warm for how thin they are.

My favorite climbing gloves are the Outdoor Design Diablo Techs. They are amazing. I've worn them in everything from 40 degree spring days to -20 degree suffer fest. I alway carry 2 pairs with me and cycle through every other pitch. For belaying take your pick of anything that is well insulated.

Never had any Camps.  Are the thumbs as big as they look in the pics?   The pics make it seem like they have monster thumbs.   I hate extra thumb flop getting in the way of clips.
Seems every brand has slightly different finger builds, and you have to find the brand/model that fits you best.

The thumbs are not that big, at least in my experience with them. Camp Geko Ice Pro is my current lead glove of choice, since they fit hand so well and have great dexterity.

The Outdoor Designs Diablo Tech glove has been the best light ice climbing glove I've used. It's on par with BD Terminator for warmth but has the dexterity of the Hestra Ergo Grip Active, even though they are a relatively unknown brand they are quality. I definitely can't recommend them enough.

In your quiver they would go above the Showa, and then I'd suggest a BD punisher as an option for a heavier/folllowing glove as well.

I did not like the punisher.  BD doesn’t fit me well, at least for performance.  Always getting lengthy fingertips caught, but can’t size down due to fit.   I also didn’t think the weather resistance was all that good.

Any alternatives to the punisher that you like?

I don't have one, sorry. To be honest, I almost never use the Punisher. I use the OD Diablo Tech and BD Terminator for just about all my climbing. It's got to be godawful cold, or snow climbing for me to bust out the the Punishers. My typical day to day system for gloves is showas + OD Diablo Tech + Terminators + Mittens/Heavy belay gloves.

I suggested the Punishers only because the original post had a hole that they would fill.
