It's extremely inefficient for a third-party to detect and flag spam though. I'd love to work with OnX or MP to build the spam detector into the forum. Please reach out at zichongkao@gmail.com if there's any interest! 

Can you share any of the details about the duration or frequency of the scans?  For example, when a single day’s total for your tool is 10 bots/spam posts detected, does that reflect a 5-minute timeframe, half an hour, all day, etc?

Anecdotally, I've noticed spam mostly at night (US time). To avoid adding too much load to MP servers, I've set the tool to run once every few minutes to cover nighttime hours. 

It could be that during the day, there are enough folks online that it is flagged before I see them. Another hypothesis though, is that the spam is coming from India. You can see that many posts link to sites like outlookindia.com and tribuneindia.com. After all, nighttime in the US = daytime in India. MP would have IP address where the spam is coming from. That would be a great feature for the model.
