How’s the descent to the raps? Ice axe good to have? |
|
|
Choss Connoisseurwrote: No ice tools/crampons needed; significant post-holing though. Belays/raps were wet & snowy on Pete's staircase (a week ago). |

What are people's thoughts for this weekend. Looks like some potential for odd weather based on NWS reports. Even if we don't get rain then I think it will be windy. |

Anybody got an update on the water situation from a recent trip? |

|
Hi there,
Just got down from lone. There is some snow but very limited. You won’t be able to get running water in the cirque until late afternoon. Fill at cowboy camp coming up if possible. There is a mega storm rolling right now, could play in favor of more water?? Probably only snow for the next week. |

Been on the road the past couple of weeks....safe to assume we're now dry up there? |
|
|
Can anyone comment what it's like to haul water up there? Is it realistic to expect to camp and climb for several days or are we in sadistic c2c only territory until next year? |

J Bwrote: Once it's a little cooler I've had friends c2c while hauling all their water. No way you'd be able to camp up there without already having stashed water |

If you hike up via Alpine, there's a spring at the second hamongog, about 8,000 ft. |

Yesterday, Aug. 3 There was a trickle of water and deepish pools at the bottom of the final rocky gulley before entering the Circ from Jacobs Ladder approach. Probably still some today. Head up the day after big thunderstorms roll through and get hat creek should have water. |

Any estimates on an average Car2Car day on the Cirque? Hoping to do it with a friend in the next week (likely will be doing the Lowe Route) while I have a day free in the Valley. We're both decent hikers, I just want to get an idea of how many hours to expect on the mountain. |

Anyone have a current account of water availability these days? Looking at heading up after Labor Day. |

Bump for latest conditions. Are people finding water flowing up there this week? |
