What is it REALLY like living in the Boulder bubble?

If you are amenable to different climbing styles, I find weather has less effect on getting out. If it's cold,  I tend to stay lower to the ground and at lower altitudes by bouldering, sport and single pitch trad in the front range. As it gets hotter, I tend to do more multi pitch, alpine and head up to higher elevation in general.  Of course,  I will also go to my collection of shaded "secret crags" during Summer. Aspect is everything in the canyons.

Haha! Unfortunately the council  hasn't cleared you yet - so nada for you. I have the good luck of knowing locals who tell me what they are developing. Also, since I am willing to hike more than 100ft from the car, i find new crags not listed in Bernard's books. When you get the cleared status, I will tell you about this new 5.12 I think you could send.

Well: your dreams. In my opinion, you are limited to dreaming of some impossible ideal not found anywhere in the world outside of one's beautiful imagination. Most "world class" climbing areas are seasonal as well for when wants to most ideal conditions. Wouldn't you agree? Isn't that one reason why climbers build out vans for traveling (sometimes at great expense), chasing the weather?

A compromise/strategy people use is getting up earlier than normal, which ain't all that bad if one is properly motivated.
