Who else does no-edge resoles, other than Rock and Resole (RR)? RR resoled my shoes ~6mos ago, and they're already delaminating.

These are 2 separate pairs of Futuras, both resoled by RR late 2021. The top pair has been worn MAYBE a dozen times since the resole. For the bottom pair, the entire upper part of the rubber completely separated from the whole shoe (starting ~3months ago?), that I've attempted to reglue it back on myself. First resole for both pairs. All of my shoes are stored in my house, away from sunlight. I'm bummed because I used to rave about, and recommend, RR to everyone. For my shoes to start delaminating this quickly, and this bad, is making me wary of sending them back, or using RR, again. Would love to hear your good experiences with other no-edge resolers. Thanks! |

In case you didn’t know, RR does warranty shoes and typically has them redone in about a week |

Crag Cobbler out of Dallas will also resole no-edge. |

Alex Holmannwrote: Good to know- I had no idea. Unfortunately, I'm way past the 3 month window they warranty for. Also, I don't often wear my resoles right out the door. I usually wait until my other shoes are ready to be resoled (or retired). Thanks for the tip! |

Frank Steinwrote: Like I said, Rock and Resole was my favorite (almost all my resoles are from them exclusively) up until this incident. These 2 pairs are just...so bad. Really hope it's just a one-off, but nice to know there are other options. I'll take rock climbing's suggestion and bring them to a local cobbler. If that fails, I'll give the other suggestions a shot. Thanks everyone! |

rough up the contact surfaces and glue them back down with E6000. tape the surfaces tight together and let them cure for a full 24 hours before removing the tape. |

Braden Doanewrote: No do not use E6000 You need to use barge cement. |

In my forays into resoling I have found the glue to be incredibly sensitive to temperature, humidity, and application. Thickness of glue applied as well as amount of time you let the glue sit before sticking the parts together will significantly change how well they bond. For instance, I have done 4 shoes all at the same time and with the same techniques and 3 of the 4 all held fine, one exploded during the 3rd session. Definitely reach out to R&R, I am sure they will fix them and it will let whoever resoled them know they need to change something in their technique. |

Kasey Mwrote: I think it depends on who is crewing the shop. I started using R&R in the early 90s with good results, until I did not. When I went to the shop to return their hack-job, there sat Bevis and Butthead at the cobbler’s bench, stoned to the gills and giggling uncontrollably. I switched to the Rubber Room until their turnaround became unreasonable, and then gave R&R another shot, again with good results. Sounds like Bevis and Butthead may have been back to work on your shoes. |

Good to know about RR warranty ... So far they've screwed up two pairs of TC Pros that both blew toes in 3-4 climbing days. |

Just since the shoes look a little bleached, as a PSA: leaving shoes in direct sunlight can effect things like adhesives. I don't know if this was the story here, but keeping shoes in hot/sunny conditions - and especially in your car for long periods of time can be detrimental. |

Long Rangerwrote: Might be the lighting, or the dirt/chalk on the shoes, that's causing them to look bleached. These are also the women's Futuras, which are a really pale "jade" green. Otherwise, all my climbing gear is stored inside my house and never left in my car. |

Yes. Contact R&R, see that they make good on making those shoe soles good again. Please report back with the outcome. As you said you have had lots of shoes resoled by them. I would expect they would like to maintain good press. |
