If you get pulled over DO NOT consent to a vehicle search, DO NOT get out of the vehicle

in the unlikely event that a LEO (law enforcement officer) asks you a question maybe consider saying:

"no"

"no thank you"

"just going camping with friends"

 " I am not sure..."

"i forget"

 "i dont know"

 "No, I do not consent"

"I invoke my Fifth Amendment Rights"

"Am I being detained or am I free to go home?"

WELCOME HOME!

Again?  You guys turned the town and the forest in to such a shit show last time.  Jails were full, people begging for food in the parking lots, tons and tons of trash and trampled vegetation in the forest.  One of the most impactful groups I have ever seen in my lifetime.  The word "rainbow" is quite misleading.  Why Steamboat area again?

So you recommend not cooperating with the police?

I thought he was recommending knowing your rights in a traffic stop.

Oh Frank. So cute sometimes.

There is a very big difference between knowing what is required of you and what is optional in a traffic stop.  Yes, be polite and calm for sure. But, doing anything they ask of you is simply a bad idea.

If they ask you if they can search your vehicle they are asking you for permission. They don’t have a right to search your vehicle without probable cause. Perhaps you think it’s no big deal because you have nothing to hide which is the biggest mistake of most Americans. Perhaps you are driving with a new climbing partner. Turns out he’s got a bunch of weed in his backpack. You’re in Utah. You as the driver are fucked. Perhaps you are lucky and they find nothing. At that point your shit is thrown out along the highway. They will drive away and leave you to pack up all your shit.

I always tell people if they don’t remember their lines at a traffic stop, just remember this: no thank you no thank you no thank you.

When I was about 17, my brother and a friend got pulled over on our way back from a backpacking trip in NW CT. We dropped off our friend in the parking lot of a head shop, and then pulled out to finish the drive home. The guy was convinced that we had drugs in the car because we pulled into and then immediately out of the head shop parking lot. My brother was driving and let them search the car because he knew we didn’t have anything illegal. The cop emptied our packs and left our gear strewn over a pretty large area. He was super pissed that he didn’t find anything illegal. He looked at me dead in the eyes and said, “I’d be happy to help you pack this back up if you’d like, but I’m gonna break everything I can.” He was dead serious.

The Loveland PD is catching heat for arresting sober people and charging them with DUIs. That’s the shit that can ruin people’s livelihoods, but it’s a game to some of them.

Maybe all yall hard men could stop roid ing & cranking for a weekend & be stewards of the land by going to the rainbow cooking food , teaching others to camp and respect the land. Acting like climbing isn't elitist as F%%$ and hating on a bunch of kids learning to camp is weak

Ugh, Invasion of the Wookies. Time to keep a water soaker next to me when driving for those cardboard sign at the intersection bums as they are getting bolder.

Also, never cooperate with the cops. They aren't on your side, ever. Always remember that they are never looking for reasons to exonerate you, only for ways to prosecute.

'Kids learning to camp', wow that's really a stretch even for this forum.  The vast majority of residents remember the last one and I've talked to nobody who is happy these fucks are returning.Have fun trashing the land in the name of peace and harmony.  Enjoy your hedonism and escapism, I'm sure it'll "change your life" or something.

Sounds like some of y'all are going, maybe you could stop tripping and make sure the rainbows don't leave behind as many dogs and children as they did last one.

Go Home.

Having been to rainbow, it’s not all bad or good. Kinda like most groups.  Plenty of creepy older men tho.  Watch out ladies.

A month? Why do I think that the NFS limits camping to 2 weeks? Has that changed?

Let me help you out here. They don’t care about any rules or regulations. They have clearly stated this for years. They are a self-serving selfish organization that completely disregards polite courteous and respectful use of the national Forest. They are clearly aware of the two week limit. But they completely ignore it.

Oooohhhhhh how do I sub to this? Lemme grab my popcorn first. I can't wait to see how they do while in Craig or Hayden!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
