I’ve got friends in the area that want to try ice climbing but these friends aren’t necessarily trusted climbing partners and I’m trying to make things as simple as possible. What top ropes can I set up without any leading involved?
Happy to do some sketchy walk arounds and happy to rap in and set up screw anchors. What have people had success with in the past?
GII works as well as almost anything on the unnamed wall, but is a long walk around(head down to the elevator shaft and go up before it) but it looks like it would be a huge pain in the ass bushwacking through the snow.
You can top rope fat chance and thin chance by walking around the left of fat chance. You can also top rope the greek corner climbs by walking around to the right of alpha (contrary to what the guidebook says). Lower greensleeves and mummy 1 are also both options for easy ice to work on technique.
