God they are rubbish

I have used 5:10s Anasazis for many years. Loved them. Bought an Adidas anasazi pink pair which looked pretty much the same as the originals but made in China. They are absolutely crap on my feet, loads of air in the toebox although painful. Had to size up a whole size from my originals, it should have been a warning sign. Now I am stuck with a pair of painful non waterproof pink wellies with excellent C4 rubber. |

Does anyone like the Adidas? Find that one person. Honestly, I am betting someone at the guest house could use 'em if ya can't sell 'em on online. |

Teton Climberwrote: I used 5.10 almost exclusively from 1998 to 2019. I have now switched to Sportiva. Ever since Adidas completed the 5.10 takeover, the shoes are horrible, and I have the same complaints as the OP across three or four models I tried. Last good 5.10 quiver was: Anasazi, HiAngle (old model), Dragon (old model) Current quiver is: Miura, Genius and Futura. I am happy wit these. I still have some Moccs for cracks. |

Teton Climberwrote: ...Raises hand cautiously... OG Five Ten shoes never fit my feet at all, but some of the recent models I like quite a lot and use often. Quantums, Grandstones. So I guess I like the Adidas shoes? |

Teton Climberwrote: Adidas jumped into the game, made the best "minimalist" approach shoe ever, sold 3 pairs (all to me) and then stopped making (edit: Adidas branded) approach shoes. If anyone has this style in any color in a 10.5 or 11 I want it. |

Check at Unparallel shoes. The old Five Ten team, the old Five Ten factory (in the US), the old Five Ten rubber... Basically Adidas turned left and these guys went straight. |

Jay Andersonwrote: Yeah the unparallel laces are basically the old pinks. I have nothing but good things to say about them |

I had worn these in the gym twice, first day I went outside this happened. These are from a few years ago and the double line of stitching ended right there at the elastic. The old ones, and now the current ones, continue that line of stitches all the way around the shoe. Either way, this is shit quality leather. I sewed them back together and they ripped again. Adidas told me to suck it because I bought them from a European website?. They're still in like new condition other than this. Going to attempt another repair but I will never buy anything from 5.10 again. Bummer. I'm going to start supporting the small guys like acopa and unparalelle. |

I like Adidas shoes, not so much the 5.10s after Adidas took over the manufacturing. I bought a pair at the outlet store before the switch and then another par on-line after the switch and the material and fit were different. I really like the originals, much less so for the post buy out model. |

PatMaswrote: I had 2 pairs of these and also really liked them. I switched to Evolv Cruzers when I couldn’t get more of these. I also like my Quantums and Aleons and I just got a pair of NIAD VCS that seem pretty nice although I haven’t climbed in them yet. |

If anyone is headed to Spain and wants Simon's shoes, stop by the hotel! Climbing partner likely, too. |

Teton Climberwrote: Thanks Teton Climber, the weather is great at the moment, dry and cool. I don't think anybody would want my shoes, perhaps only as an approach shoe or perhaps as cool disco shoes. |

I am a big fan of La Sportiva, quality shoes and boots every time. |

Climbed in new Unparallel UP Lace last two days. Very sticky! Solid - more substantial than Adidas-era Anasazi. Heel fits better than Katana Lace even though shoe is 1/2 size bigger. Made in USA in the same factory that made FiveTen. Check 'em out. |

Jay Andersonwrote: Second this.. I recently got a pair of the UP Lace and was so pleasantly surprised with how comfortable they are and how great they work on slab and face climbing. I avoided 5.10s for years because they didn't seem to fit my feet right, but figured I'd try a pair of these and am really happy with them. I sized them down 1/2 size from my street shoe. |
