Arm and Hammer Whiteside Mountain Info

Does anyone know why there is such little documentation on the Whiteside route "Arm and Hammer". About all I can find on the route is the Mountain Project page. This route is absent from both the Selected Climbs in North Carolina and the old Climbers Guide to NC 3rd edition book.

I am curious if anyone has a topo different from the one on the route page. I am also curious if there is a reason it was left out of both books. I could be wrong, but I thought it was developed before the Climbers Guide to NC 3rd edition by Thomas Kelly came out.

Maybe because Stegg put it up and ol Steggo was ostracized. I’ll say my buddy did a great job with this route. Super fun climbing. Not the sport route people make it out to be on here but mellow in a sense compared to some of the other climbs on the headwall. The topo Andrew posted is plenty info to send the route but feel free to reach out.

Are there any other sport climbs on that wall that aren't as hard?  5.9 - 5.10 range?

Adam I got it!

Charles yeah pretty much every line on the headwall is somewhere close to 5.9/10  if you wear knee bar pads. Just pick a line that looks fun and go for it!

Are you being sarcastic? I don't own any traditional climbing gear yet so I can only sport climb and top rope.  Thanks

The only actual sport climbing I believe is 5.11 and up. Mostly at the North Face Catwalk. The first pitch of boulder problem I've heard is a cool 5.8 crack, but it's trad.

Charles, while sport routes are (generally) all-bolted, not all bolted routes are sport. Whiteside is a very good example of this. Even bolted routes here tend to be pretty legit, so tread with caution. That's why Dylan was yanking years chain.

In addition to the NF, the left side of the SE face has a good selection of mostly bolted single pitch routes. Many are really good but get no love due to their unfortunate location below the larger main wall.

Thanks! That was very helpful.  He should be nice instead of messing with people.

To be honest I find it impossible to believe Charles is a legitimate MP user and I feel like all of his inquiries and comments are beyond outlandish and an attempt to troll certain subject matter. Thus I provided him with an outlandish response. If he is truly genuine with his forum posts.... bless his little soul....

Well, I did buy some knee pads from Send Climbing and I really like them!

I just read the other thread.   This dude's not serious.   Lame, old humor, try something more updated bro.

I figured he wasn’t serious either. I thought a lot of people climb at Whiteside.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
