On this weekend's drive, I listened to an old podcast interview with Alex Honnold , he says that he wears 46.5 street shoes, but he wears TC pros at size 41 (37:00 timestamp). So, maybe that can be the solution for you?

Don't take my comment too seriously...

WTFffff? How does he jam in those? My street size is 44.5/45 and I can’t even imagine pulling on a 41

I’m guessing his feet are pretty deformed and desensitized by now…

I just bought a pair a month ago. I’ve used them maybe four times and less than 30 minute of climbing. I can tell you right now, no matter what anyone says about five ten being horrible quality since it has been bought by adidas, these shoes are absolutely unacceptable. The rand is already delaminating from the boot. I’ve owned grandstones, UP Duels, the Moccasyms ( non NAID ) and used all of them for over a year on countless hours of roof cracks, sharp basalt, left them in the car in hot humid weather without much signs of delam or excessive wear. I have babied these TC Pros as I thought they were going to be my dream shoes. This is not the case. Save your money until this fix the initial production issues.

Ryan, were these the old version TCs or the new ones?

The production is the same as the last version. Probably the same in the last 30/40 years.

What you got is a pair that was not properly glued, and they should fix it or replace it. Most shoes that are not properly glues will fall appear right away. Doesn't take much to mess it up. Someone goes to lunch, eats some greasy Italian, forgets to  wash their hands and shoes fall apart. Italian craftsmanship is all about spicy meatballs.

I’ve owned so many shoe brands over the years but that sounds like a warranty claim to me. Also, wash your hands with meatballs. :-)

I have noticed the TC's delam a bit between the rand and sole, it seems a pretty common issue but the delaminating doesn't seem to keep going or have any impact on performance just an annoying flaw.

Alex's usual dead pan delivery borders on trash talking in most any recording he does. Although he does have the walk to back up the talk!

The trashing of other trad shoes was absolutely hilarious, as if they have climbed in any other brands shoes. Looking forward to getting a new pair.

OK, does anyone else see the obvious chode, in the topo lines.... on the side? Or am I just a graphical pervert?
Hopefully TC Chodes wont stick? : - )

I tried a few pairs on and found the extra rubber and lace protector thing pushed down into the first knuckle of my big toe in a way that seemed uncomfortable.  Has anyone else noticed this?  Does it go away?  I was all set to buy but then bailed

I noticed this as well and was concerned, but it has not been noticeable on the rock and is improving in general as the shoe softens. As usual though, ymmv.

Tried on a pair yesterday and stood one some micro edges in the store. I had to move up a full size to get the same fit as the older design. So Plus1 on needing to size up. They seem like they have less volume, which may irk some larger footed peeps. The tongue issue certainly seems fixed and I did not feel any issue with the lace protector, but again, I just tried them on, and have not done any pitches with the new design yet. If you REALLY like the old ones, might be a good time to stock up???

I found the sizing to be pretty much the same between the old TC pro and the updated version.

Here's a new 42.5 next to an older 42.5 that has never been worn.  Length is pretty much identical.  The subjective fit is very similar.  The newer version has perhaps a little more room in the toe box and perhaps slightly less heel rand tension, but it's very, very close.  I might just be imagining things while trying to parse out the subtle differences.  I imagine they'll fit pretty much identically once they're broken in a bit.

The tongue that doesn't roll when you put it on seems like an upgrade.  The rands hopefully will be an upgrade as well.

I tried some brand new ones on in the store today, definitely less heel tension making them feel a eurosize smaller, not sure how I feel about this tbh. They feel more comfortable out of the box but playing around in them I feel like I've lost edging performance.

What's up with the light green hard plastic piece that the laces go through towards the toe of the shoes? I tried some of these and that hard plastic piece painfully dug into my toe. Seems really uncomfortable to jam with that there. Has anyone tried these for a period of time and can report on if that piece loosens up at all?

Agreed while physical length is identical they subjectively feel roomier.  I would say either size down 1/2 from prior version or accept slightly roomier feel.

The last three people on this thread agree with you:
