I’m looking for a good hard shell and don’t want to go dead bird. Specifically looking at the Nordwand Light HS jacket by Mammut but can’t find any reviews. Thanks.
I had the Kento Hardshell Hooded Jacket and found it to be extremely small (for a small), WAY thinner than other hardshells, and just a very awkward fit. Not to mention the main zipper is opposite which was always making me fumble a bit. But the Nordwand may be a bit thicker. I’d suggest trying another Mammut jacket in your size before pulling the trigger. Ended up with Arcteryx.
There’s a review on Backcountry now, at 10oz it sounds like a backpacking shell or similar if that’s what you’re looking for. Personally I just got a 13oz Patagonia Ascentionist with Gore Active that I’m really liking so far but still gotta fully test it this winter.
I have the nordwand hs pants and they great. I imagine the jacket would be similarly high quality and high function. Mammut (generally) makes really good stuff.

Just double-checking - did you get a women's jacket?
