What’s been your experience with the TC Pro 2 fit? I personally feel they’re .1-1 size larger than the V1. They seem to break in significantly faster as well, 2-3 pitches at most.

I still have an old new pair, and an older pair being resloed. I can’t speak to the new fit.

Are they less stiff after the break in, than the old ones?

Most definitely. They feel amazing after a few pitches.

Dang… I liked the rigidity of the v1 due to some toe issues.  Took so many pairs to find this out.  Will it still be available?

I actually find the new model to be stiffer than the old if sized similarly. The midsole seems markedly stiffer and they maintain a slight downturn for longer than the old ones.

Sized similarly? As in same size on paper or downsizing the v2 a little bit? I think I have 42.5 in the v1, are you saying would it be similar stiffness in a 42.5, or half to full size smaller? Thanks

The same size # shoe feels stiffer. You can also tell if you bend the toe upward on a new gen 1 and gen 2 shoe. The gen 2 seems to preserve a bit more downturn from the last out of the box.

I found the sizing to be consistent in both models in my experience. The recent first gen TC pros I had seemed to run a bit large for their size compared to those from 5-6 years ago, so this is comparing a first and second gen TC pro at the store.

Interesting.  I believe I got my v1’s around 2016/2017 and am on a couple resoles now.  I guess I’ll just have to try some v2’s and see to be sure.

This guy talks about sizing down at the end of the video.

Best to try them on yourself. Also, two pairs of the same printed "size" may fit differently, which brings us back to the main point, which is to try them on yourself.

I tried a few pairs on and found the extra rubber and lace protector thing pushed down into the first knuckle of my big toe in a way that seemed uncomfortable.  Has anyone else noticed this?  Does it go away?  I was all set to buy but then bailed

Yes I had the same issue. Haven’t actually bought a pair yet because it seemed quite uncomfortable at the base of my big toe. The combination of materials there seems poorly thought out.

I have big bumps on my big toes so might not be standard, yes for me they have reinforced it in the wrong place, very uncomfortable plastic insert. Still persevering to see if they break in more.

I understand it improves durability, but perhaps they went a bit too far.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
