Pikes Peak bolt chopping resumes due to guide book publication

Wow, unbelievable. Look at the photo from the guidebook very closely. Tradiban and the chopper boiz were right, adding just a few bolts has proven to be a slippery slope.  

Just remember, even if u have the book and are a competent climber u still have to find a middle aged white guy who’s been climbing in the area > 15 years to lead u up your first route. Cuz thats the local ethic

I’m that guy, although I’d be flattered to be labeled “middle-aged.” My rates are cheap. (You get what you pay for!) I also have the guidebook, so I’m not going to get lost (again). Btw the book is excellent, and I’m enjoying seeing names on the routes I did bitd. And I admit that it inspires me to go to the trouble and expense to climb up there again.

Yeah. All of the pictured routes are trad and/or mixed rock and ice. There are (were?) five bolts in ~16 diagrammed pitches; 99% of the pro are gear placements.

I read the PPCA announcement last week and made me wonder so I did some searching. It looks like they finally caught the choppers on a hidden cam. I don't believe I've had the displeasure of meeting those dipshits, does anyone recognize the peckerhead in this video? I sure hope the local authorities can press charges for this now. Wreckless endangerment comes to mind and maybe manslaughter if someone get hurt.

The shirt appears to be the same one the dude on the right is wearing from Tim's original post. The backpack seen next to the rear passenger tire also looks the same. Maybe it's a coincidence. Just an observation.

Tim posted a photo of Bo and co. 17 pages ago, with just as much evidence as the video posted lol Not sure why we are trying reignite the dumpster fire that is the “pikes peak bolt wars”. Everyone in the community knows who the bolt choppers are and Bo has openly admitted to it in the past so I’m not sure what this video is going to do moving forward. I mean the dude was literally the president of PPCA at one point lol
