Does anyone know of any routes in the red with fairly easy access to top anchors ? Looking to set up a top rope without climbing the route.
example might be hiking in to the top of bed time for bonzo. I was also thinking.. crude boys, the hangover problem, if my number is up... at eagle point buttress.

thanks

Just find a partner. RRG is one of the worst places for this. Difficult top access,  in the case of many areas, legal issues with the top of the cliff being private property,  tiered ledges and capped roofs above many routes.

Something like Bedtome For Bonzo, doesn't have easy top access without some climbing,  is super traversing requiring several directionals, and is one of the most popular trad routes in the Red, that you'd be hogging. The eagle point routes are super obscure, the first one having no repeats since the FA that I'm aware of.

The New River Gorge has a lot more places TRS would be more accessible.

I believe your comment is very suited for gear protected, aka traditional, climbing. Quite a few sport routes can be setup as top ropes if one has a clip stick, knowledge how to use it, and no friends.

I think DrRockso was answering the question in regards to accessibility to top anchors without climbing the route. The original question did not ask about rope soloing.

Also the specific route mentioned: bedtime for bonzo is a 2 pitch trad route with a hiking trail to the top, easy access to the anchor but does not align with the actual climbing.

Yes, he was, and his answer is correct. I thought that OP might benefit from knowing his options - one is not limited to hiking to the top to set up route as TR and he is not limited to trad routes.

The original question did not ask about rope soloing.

I suppose the title of this thread "RRG top rope solo" is somewhat misleading.

If you don’t mind soloing Caver’s route, I bet you could set up some TRs on the other routes on Tower Rock.
