Has anyone had any luck ordering these. It seems they have been out of stock for months. I called climb tech and haven’t yet heard anything.

I don’t want to start unfounded rumors, but I heard through the grapevine that ClimbTech is transitioning away from recreational climbing hardware.

They haven't been in stock in over six months+, unless they sell out in a week and I keep missing them.

I purchased some from a distributor about a month ago.

While this isn't what you want exactly, here are some captive .

I’ve been trying to find some since February  no luck.
the hooks are so cheap and nice to have a good supply.

No plans to move away from top anchor hooks anytime soon.  They sell out due to backorders and its hard to keep them in stock.  Sorry all.

How does an individual get on the backorder list? Or is that just for distributors?

Chris. I love your bolt hangers.  The are the best for lead bolting. Also just fine for top down sport climbs. I think I just bought you out with my order of 50.. I now see that you are out of stock...   I have some Fixe  hangers with the 1/2 in hole. don't feel super awesome about them for useing with 3/8th stud bolts..  seems like they turn into spinners easier?  also  APINTA to use because you can't really pre assemble them...

thanks for the feedback nick,  dont use 1/2" hangers with 3/8" studs, that wont work.  use a 1/2" 5 piece with those if you can.

keeping stock on hand has been a challenge this year, thank you for your patience and please, bolt the best warmups followed by the hardest lines on the wall!

Anyone have recommendations on alternatives in the meantime? I had been using Trango's captive steel biners but they've been out. I know US Rigging has these safety snaps as well as these other stainless snaps, and E-Rigging has these snaps (though their WLL seems concerningly low).

Does anyone have experience with either of these? What's the ideal way to size them - same diameter as quicklinks? (so 3/8 for lower off?)

The 3/8 US rigging safety snaps are pretty legit, however they are hard to clip.  I believe (please correct me if im wrong) that these are on a different safety systems than climbing gear.  The 990WILL I believe is 3-5 times below the breaking strength that all climbing gear is rated to.

Additionally they are legit 316SS and sit pretty and do not twist when loaded.

I regularly use the Climbtec Hooks, Trango captives, and the 3/8 US Rigging snap hooks.  Each dependent on predicted use, who funded this rebolt, is it new climb and availability of hardware.

I try to use SS Quicklinks when possible, both 5/16 and 3/8 fit all three applications.

990lbs Working load limit could be anywhere between, 15ish to 40+kn. Safety factors aren't standardized and are across the board from 3 to 10x. The E rigging ones look like perhaps they don't have a catch on the nose to be able to keylock, which perhaps accounts for their low WLL

Limited testing by the bolt Buster Team indicates that this doesn't matter at all with wedges (washer used but they're standard with wedges anyway). 24.74, 22.44 and 25.22kN in tension in concrete. In al cases the bolt was the weak point, not the hanger pulling over the nut. In fact, the larger hanger hole had consistently HIGHER numbers than the 3/8" hole ones.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.

Fixed Hardware: Bolts & Anchors
