Going to be in the Yosemite area in a couple weeks and I was wondering if I'll need to get a day pass for the park to be able to climb in Tuolumne Meadows. I'm not super familiar with the area and didn't visit Tuolumne my last time out to the valley. Thanks!
Day passes (or lodging reservations/wilderness permits) are required to drive in. You don't need a pass to enter on YARTS or by bike, which could work if you parked at Tioga Pass.
You need a permit to enter Yosemite National Park, the high country included. I believe they have the shuttle service starting from The Tioga Pass Mobile Mart, which does not require a day pass, however, you are on the buses schedule, which limits routes and time in the park.

Thanks! Appreciate the info. I'll definitely be trying to reserve a pass.
