Ignored Users

According to MP:

Ignored users will be minimized your view of the forum, and they cannot reply to forum topics you create

How about filtering topics created by ignored users? Chances are if I found them tiresome enough to ignore they likely create topics I have no interest in seeing.

Ignoring users is weak. Take it like a man.

How do you  know mojomonkey isn't a woman? that would be pretty offensive.

The only thing that offends me is your lack of capitalization.

Can we have a ranking of the most ignored users?  I want to lavish more attention on our biggest trolls.

Proclaims ignoring trolls is weak yet calls for the mods?

So very confusing.

Does anybody representing mountain project with the ability to implement changes ever read / reply to threads in here?

It would be nice to know if suggestions were seen, considered, added to the queue or declined.

Otherwise may I suggest re-titling this subforum "Old man yells at cloud"?

We do! As you can imagine, there's a lot going on in here and it can be tough to keep tabs on everything, but we do try to keep an eye on suggestions, bugs, improvements, etc. so that we can improve the site and app.

I can confirm that there's a ticket regarding the Ignore User function.

Unless this is a bug, why can people on my ignore list still respond in threads that I create? My only guess is you all like the trolling. What other reason could there be?

Zander, can u delete my ‘eliminate aliases’ post

  • It is your post. He should delete it. But someone will bring it up again for whatever reason.
  • I like the idea of improving the Ignore User feature better. People can zap me, and I can zap them. Seems like a fair solution. See what happens on the coding front.

When a post offends me I would like it if an admin could come to my house and hold me until the trauma subsides. Any chance that function is coming? I live in Bishop, so you could send some sick blocs while you're here (after cuddling, of course).

  1. Just mentioning cuddling is a microagression on a climbing website.
  2. Yes, people in Bishop are prone to your problem.
  3. The issue may be less about offending than just having better things to sort through. Either way, I am sure many people here will be happy to visit Bishop and get off of the forums. Too much drama.

When you start a thread, I believe you have the power to lock it so that no more replies will come up.  Then it will fade into obscurity.

Thanks for checking in. Even if no immediate action is being taken it is useful to let posters know if it is being considered, rejected, etc. They'll not be likely to pass along other suggestions if it seems like they just drift off into the ether.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
