Verification/ minimum post to use for sale section?

Seems like a good number of posts in the for sale section are by people with a brand new account, no post history, no ticks and questionable gear. While some might be legit odds are most aren't.  It would be awesome if you could verify accounts that want to sell or just make a minimum account age/ tick/ post count to use so its not up the the buyer to verify the legitimacy of the seller.

Nah, caveat emptor.

it is always buyer beware, doesn't mean you can't make it harder for illegitimate sellers.

only forum i've seen that you can open an account and immediately use the for sale.

I’m not personally aware of anyone having a negative experience with the MP for sale forum. Have you been ripped off Hans?

My experience is very limited, but it’s been positive so far. My friends say the same.

Caveat Emptor...a great route in Death Canyon in the Tetons!

I've bought and sold tons of stuff here. Never been ripped off. Closest I came was once someone took like 4 weeks to ship something to me. But 90% of the time I use PayPal so there's little risk.

I think it's pretty obvious when someone is a fraud and you really can't go wrong with PayPal. Just screenshot the post for your own records if you're worried.

A lotta people join just for the FS section so that would really cut down on the traffic.

Would certainly boost community which I'm all for but also reduce overall gear selling and yeah, caveat emptor

I've never had an issue.

It was just a suggestion based off the fact this is one of the few places you can post immediately but the consensus seems to be it works fine this way and isn't an issue.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
