Turkey Rocks Conditions
Anyone know what Turkey rock is like? Looks like it should be plenty warm to climb out there tomorrow, but don't know if it'll be wet in the cracks. Also anyone planning on heading out there? |

28 inches of heavy, wet spring snow last Sunday, followed by another 6 inches on Tuesday. Rock & Tail both still have plenty of wet snow on steep slabs and icicles dangling from overhangs, so falling ice is a significant hazard. Be prepared for a long walk / post-hole / ski approach.

Thanks for the update |

We actually went on Saturday... walked the road, and broke trail to the rock. Rock was warm and mostly dry, but base was deep snow.... we broke trail, but getting there was pretty awful. |

Any new beta from today for a city slicker like me? |

Yeah, is the road open all the way? |
Yea, but it was in rough shape. Need some good clearance at least from where I parked. Made it in a subaru crosstrek |

Eric Kwrote: Awesome, thanks! |

There's a bit of a snowy approach but it's not bad at all. Everything on the south side is completely melted and the routes are dry. It's already getting hot though... For the road, 4wd seems nice if not necessary, and something with decent clearance. |

Anyone been to Turkey recently? How much snow is on the road? How dry is S. Platte currently? Thank you! |
