Seeking information on any and all parts of this ridge traverse.

Best I can do is a picture

Taken from Triple Divide Peak looking south. Black Kaweah on the far left and Lion Rock in the foreground above the pretty lake.

Looks a little on the jagged side! You lookin to hit that this summer?

Maybe this link works too Triple Divide photosphere

Thanks—those are great pictures, looking right down the Divide.

I should have been more specific. I want to see if there might be a near-crest route that can be negotiated with a full pack, without dropping down into the “Big Arroyo” to the east. Based on looking at topo maps and especially, high-res imagery, I think there may indeed be, but with a good chunk of it right on the very crest itself, especially in the southern part down near Sawtooth Peak and N and S of it, down to Mt. Florence. I’ve never been in this area; it looks fantastic.

And yes, this summer is the hope.

Very cool Jim, I like it. Staying high on the ridge certainly is the aesthetic way to go!

I've also had success setting a centrally located basecamp (in this case it would be somewhere in Big Arroyo) and picking off a peak or two per day for a few days in a row. That way you can hit the ridgeline with a very light pack and come back to camp and swim in the lake and read a nice book ...... ahh ..........

P.S. I'm leaving myself "subscribed" here, make sure you post up after your trip :)

Great western divide, central traverse. North to south- triple divide, lion rock, mt Stewart, black spur, kaweah gap, Eagle Scout Pk, corndog, diamond dawg, mt carol, lippincott, eisen, north black pass Pk, black rock pass, 3 un-named peaks at 11k+, sawtooth. A lot of 3rd,4th in there but loose metamorphic ~ 5.5 climbing on black spur and mid 5th on the north ridge of eisen.

Pack light, a day from pear lake t.h. through the tablelands to triple divide. 2 days on the traverse, leave a car in mineral king. And write a trip report!!

I’ve always thought the the great western divide of 3 great traverses, north, central and south. Triple divide to sawtooth is pretty much the central and south linked together, minus some on the south. North would be farquar to centennial. A good goal for the summer. Good luck.

Ive bagged nearly all those peaks on different trips. It is doable IMO. My guess would be easiest grade - 5.5 with a lot of 3rd/4th. If you took dancing deer direct from kaweah gap to Eagle Scout Pk, a more direct route, 5.7 (soft).  Black spur is a tough peak. Not many people go up there, it’s loose, the fresh air traverse south of the summit is classic.

I posted a pic in the MP - High Sierra/Great western divide section that shows Eagle Scout to eisen from the east.

I've been eyeing just the traverse from eagle to lippincott.

Wydaho - did you climb the north face of Stewart? Would love a bit more beta on that one.

Glad you liked it, Bill !

I've had tears in my eyes at the end of a long day in the mountains -- although usually due to cramped legs after jumping in the cold lake! ice bath!

For whatever it's worth, which I hope isn't much, the following is still posted under SEKI "Trail Conditions":

10/3 - Due to the Rattlesnake Fire and SQF Complex, the following area is temporarily closed to all individuals: All lands within the exterior boundary of Sequoia National Park in the Kern River drainage, Tule River drainage, East Fork Kaweah River drainage, and the portion of the Middle Fork Kaweah River drainage south of a line defined by the river and the ridge between the Hamilton Lakes basin and Eagle Scout Creek drainage

Many thanks to everyone for your replies on this! I will respond when I get some time to digest all and to look at some more maps and images; am overloaded with work at the moment.
