Auburn Ice Canyon conditions?
|
|
Has anyone here been to Auburn Ice Canyon recently? Curious about conditions right now. Thanks! |

Just guessing: it’s gonna be very wet and it’s only gonna get more wet with the rain coming. Especially the floor. I’m sure there’s some climbable slush and choss if you’re really desperate. Personally I’d choose to drive elsewhere to find something better. I’ll wait for some deeper winter conditions before going there. |

Thanks, Mike. Appreciate the update. |

Where are people parking these days? Is there an obvious trail. I haven't been there since the parking lot was forbidden to park in. |

Gunna bump this up to ask about conditions now. Anyone been more recently? |

Looks like it's pretty cold this week. Any locals who have been already or have a good guestimate of whether these temps result in good conditions? |

Hi all- anyone interested in a partner in crime for few ice climbing sessions at Auburn, let me know. WEs or maybe during some week days. Take care. |

Anyone have any recent conditions beta? |

I was there on 2/11/21 and we climbed on the concrete slabs. As of then, lots of potential routes. |

Went on Saturday 2/13 Ice was in on some faces, but thin on others. Not sure what this week's rain and cold have done to it... |

Parking at the Pappas recreational complex is straight forward and you won't be pissing of the bourgeoisie by parking on their roads or stepping on their yards... |

DGoguenwrote: When butt shots were still considered good climbing photography! Green beebees and special vents meant something, back in the day. Who would have thought our little practice place would get so popular? One of the old EMS gang sent me a photo a while back with it least seventy climbers in the frame. So Dave, this summer I climbed with the hot father and son Courmier team, and they told me you were still crushing. They were making the climbs I put up two years ago in the Cirque look easy. Come up to the middle of nowhere, Maine, this summer and check out some stuff! |

Will do my friend. Sorry for the detour folks, back to the regular programming. |
