Probably not too hard to guess but it was a nice after-work kind of afternoon!

Massachusetts if anyone wants a hint.

Do you want the name of the lake or the mountain?

Crow Hill?

Was it today?  Can you access the top anchors at the practice wall safely and easily? As in by walking around without leading?

Close to Crow Hill!

Had a decent top rope setup off two trees. Further left would be better protected with screws when it's fat.

That doesn't look like anything you would find in the NE states.

Leominster Ice Quarry I believe. Hard to tell exactly given the lack of perspective in the photo

I’m a little surprised it was in.... the ice there can be temperamental. Was Monoosnuc Madness in? Best pure ice route in central MA........... or is it......

It was very thin on Monoosoc Madness. Hopefully it'll be in after the storm this week

Glad to see people getting up there. It’s a very nice alternative to Auburn when it is in and the hike up there helps to thin the crowds. To be honest when I posted the place on MP I wasn’t sure it was ever going to come in that good again. In 2015 it was like an ice gym... multiple quality routes.... all years since have been terrible conditions. It is included in Todd Swains new ice guide as well... highly recommend getting a copy if you don’t already have one!

Sorry Frank, I deleted the post within a few minutes.  Was just having some fun, but quickly decided in these trying times to not be fun.

And after the last snow storm in the Sierras, there's likely 10 feet of fresh powder at the spot I was standing.  Might be a bit of a challenge getting in there right now.  lol

It's not all great out here though [think... only 95% great], big snows only guarantee more complications in our summer Sierra plans.  If it's not forest fires, it's too much snow which helps limit the forest fires but creates new access hurtles.
