Excessive Chalk at Interstate
|
|
I’ve noticed lots of chalk and massive tick marks around for a while, but today came across the most egregious use of chalk I have ever seen. The feet on the Noodle and Show Me boulders at Interstate Park (WI side) were smothered in a thick coat of chalk and shoe rubber, heavier than I’ve seen at gyms. It hasn’t rained in weeks, so someone was not trying to dry holds off. I tried to brush off as much as I could, but this is probably going to require a steel brush to remove the shoe rubber. This park is one of two state natural areas in Wisconsin that allows climbing. Let’s keep it that way. Clean up after yourself. |

jaysquaredwrote: Why on earth would you chalk those feet? Only thing that's going to do is make them even more slick. |

So fucking jealous of the horizontal ice season you guys are having right now. It looks all time! |

JJ, I find chalk comes off quickly with water and a pressure washer - I've cleaned up several boulders while waiting for the solvents to work on graffiti. |

When you climb at the gym thats what they do to the holds . Maybe they need to see like a white hold problem like a gym? |

Wait, I totally got sidetracked in this thread...ignore my posts above. Originally Was there a week ago and saw tons of bag spillage dumps and “whitewashed” 5. Easy like in pics above. Temps in 40’s and dry as a bone. |
