Route Recommendations for Alpine/Ski

Hello all,

I'm looking for ideas for fun routes that have some easy class 5 with a nice ski descent in Colorado to do this winter/spring. Specifically Bancroft East Ridge comes to mind, but I'd like to do others too. I found info on the Snake Couloir on Sneffels and while it looks cool alpine wise I think it may be a bit too steep of a ski for me. If anyone has some other ideas I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

queens way couloir in the IPW, christo couloir on quandry, dragons tail in

rmnp, all dope ski descents with mellow (potentially) technical ascents

Thanks Alex. I've climbed Cristo Couloir and Dragons Tail numerous times and can't recall any technical class 5 sections. I'll look into Queens Way.

Right branch of Y couloir Mt Ypsilon. If you aren't down for skiing the steepness of the Snake Couloir, most couloirs with 5th class steps will probably be too steep for you. You could look into climbing 5th class ridges then taking a more mellow descent. You could climb Arrowhead to McHenrys then ski down to Stoneman Pass then back to Glacier Gorge TH. You could also do the Thatchtop to Powell traverse then drop any of those north facing couloirs towards the sky pond. Keyhole ridge, Kieners or N Face to the trough on longs. Lots of options in the Indian Peaks and Gore range as well

Thanks SE! that's more what I'm looking for. Fun technical 5th class with an alternate ski route down.

isn't marthas >> MLW a linkup in the spring people do?  requires the right storm to fill in MLW as a ski descent...

Ya I think it always will have at least 2 rappels even during a fat snow year unless you’re comfy with 15+ ft air landing in a tight 50 degree coulie

Up the Flying Dutchman and down the Lamb's Slide. I have done the up, would like to ski down next time.

You have to be patient and wait for the right conditions, but climbing Dreamweaver and descending the Dragon's Egg couloir on Meeker is a great link-up (Dreamers's Egg? Dragonweaver?).

Thanks guys, those are some great ideas!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
