BD Creek Bag Repair

I have a Black Diamond Creek pack that is about 1 year old and the material is already wearing thin in spots from heavy use.  I’m on a limited budget to be buying new gear.   Has anyone had success with patches or another repair method?  I would imagine it would be a similar repair as a haul bag.  Looking for something other than duct tape.

Through user error, I put some holes in a metolius haul bag.  I was able to get ahold of some of their durathane material for patches.  I used PVC cement to bond the patches on, then put a little line of gutter sealant called GS121 around the edges so there isnt an edge to get snagged as I drag it up a face.

Worked great!  I've hauled slab since the patch job and everything is holding up great.

How did you get the material?

Good recommendation.   Didn’t think of that.

I emailed metolius and they shipped it to me for free!  I guess you'll have to improvise something else though.

You can get fabric samples from Ripstop by the Roll. They come in ~3" circles, probably big enough for patches.

The sample idea is great, but that Ripstop by the Roll only sells thin stuff which isn't durable enough for this application.  I would recommend getting a sample of this stuff:

Kyle over at high mountain gear repair could probably fix it for you.
