Where to have hexes re-slung?

Victor, most people prefer to have the knot inside the larger hexes.

Damn - beat me to it? And what's up with the hexes being undrilled?

Hexes that are made today (wild country or DMM come to mind) don't have holes besides the ones for the sling. I suppose that's because they did the math or testing and found that a thin-walled but solid hex weighs less for the same strength rating as a thicker but drilled-out one.

Agree - the ones in the pic on the previous page look more old school, but I really can't tell.

Un-drilled hexes are more aerodynamic and are easier to tune. More cowbell.

It does look like those hexes are malformed tho. Different dimensions on all three sides.

Better for beating a bear away from your food. Which is one of the best uses for a hex.

should I just get some 5.9 mm powercord and do it myself?

Old school BD cowbells. Not drilled. It was easier to thread the triple fisherman's outside and I prefer uniformity.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
