So how exactly does this work?  Simply clicking on link and and then signing in to Rakuten?  Not sure how to verify that link was used.

Exactly. Even if you use a junk email account its most likely tied to your other email accounts so yeah, F that and all other junk apps

Time to put my money where my referral mouth was

In other years, Planet Granite would match ASCA donations for the month of November. I'm guessing this year they didn't have the funds and were focused on keeping their employees paid.

So I tried doing the Facebook Giving Tuesday deal for ASCA. Hoping that it will get the 100% match. I'm always looking for a deal  ;)  which is why you should use my Rakuten referral - to keep this going.

Has it been confirmed that they do pay out?

I have $56 in my account so far and payout will be by February 2021. It’s a publicly traded company. I feel safe knowing they will pay out

I had one that disappeared and Rakuten said it was the vendor (Backcountry) denied payment or item was returned(not the case). Then a month later it reappeared without anymore discussion.

PSA: 

I invited someone in mid-December. They placed a qualifying order, and they didn't get their cash back or their $40 referral, nor did I get my $40 bonus. They just used the online chat feature with Rakuten to report the issue. After verifying the order number and subtotal of the order, Rakuten said they would fix the problem. A few minutes later, they received their cash back and we both got our $40 bonuses. Just in time for next week's payout! Assuming the checks arrive, which I don't doubt they will, this seems to be pretty close to free money!

Yeah my bonuses are also gone from the two people who I once saw had qualified.
