Santee Boulders

With snow hitting Idyllwild and my shit sedan most likely unable to get up to Black Mountain anymore this season I figure I'd finally give Santee Boulders a go.. always been hesitant seeing the crowds at the SD climbing gyms and other crags but maybe it's not bad? I mean Black Mountain gets quite a few people too it just seems that theres enough climbing to make it tolerable at least when I've gone. Anyone know what crowds are like on weekend mornings these days at Santee Boulders in SD? I lack a belayer this weekend and need to wrestle pebbles. |

There are rarely large crowds there. Besides, the area is very small and its easy to find something to pass the time if a group is on the boulder you want to try Are you sure it's snowing at Black Mountain? Weather says it'll be high 40s to mid 50s this upcoming week and mildly cloudy w/ no forecasting of snow. I'm considering going up myself this wknd |

Chance of snow Friday night I'm seeing. I just assume the road would eat my car alive after any real precipitation so I'm probably overly caution on it but I'd love to be wrong. |

Theres never crowds there, it just isnt great rock. |

The shit rock will get your toes primed for that idyllwild slabage on suicide. Very thankful for that place. Bring beers and mess around! |

Crowds at Santee are non existent compared to Black Mountain, the gym, Woodson or Mission Gorge. Its not shit rock, its just slicker than shit. Not a bad place to run laps on problems and catch a quick work out when you can't make it elsewhere. |

Santee boulders have good energy. Memories form like memories do from Stoney Point, in a different light and color. Grateful we are for the sacred stone magnets. |
