Following. and so that I contribute this is what I'm picking up with the 14% AJ stacked. This is my favorite cord for the main reason being that 6mm and up Edelweiss has dry treatment on their accessory cord. It is very durable and the sheath is a bit slicker than others making knots easier to tie/untie. I am sick of spending $$$ on the marked-up stuff locally. This will keep me and my friends supplied with V thread cord and cordelettes for a long long time. Under a dollar a meter once AJ is applied. |

What's the catch on the rakuten thing? What do they gain from giving away free cams? I don't see any confirmation that $40 will be sent back to you, which makes me skeptical. Has anyone else used this and seen $40 appear in their paypal? |
|
|
g swrote: I was skeptical. It worked for me. They pay your cash back quarterly. I imagine the catch is they will do this until they have market share on AJ and then drop the incentive. Bit like advertising cost. |

How long does it take for the cash back and $40 to appear in Rakuten? I've never used a service like this so I'm a little skeptical and not sure what the delay is. Even without the cashback the %15 off coupon that stacks with sales is pretty amazing. |

Rakuten is legit - it is the newer version of fatwallet (yes, I've been a deal-scorer for many years) and the 'mainstream' version of ActiveJunky. They get shopping data and turn that into cashback for shoppers. If you were worried about personal data 1) don't be online 2) definitely don't use a CC online or in person - your credit card company knows many things about you 3) you don't have a cell phone, do you? 4) etc etc So feel free to jump on the Rakuten train - the $40 bonus is pretty crazy. AJ is like $5 and it used to be more. and to try and contribute with an actual deal - the Beta stick compact at Moosejaw with the 15% code from above/previous page, and cashback is a price you won't ever beat. The standard (12') model sold out yesterday. After cashback it would have been ~$50. The compact version will be closer to $40 net. Alternative is the Kailas Click up $48 on Amazon I have the 'old/blue' version of this and like it. The Beta evo sounds like it has a more secure pole design for those who sport climb more often than I do. For me the compact, light, superclip style Click Up is good enough. |

Rakuten is an ebates business so they take a cut of all sales they directed from their site. This is usually 10%. In order to incentivize us they give back a portion of their profits back to us. So take advantage of them . If you haven’t signed up use this link and I’ll donate half of it to the national park service. https://www.rakuten.com/r/AARAMA6?eeid=37137

Moosejaw, current day promo of 50% cash back when combined with Rakuten can get you large DMM Dragon's down to ridiculously cheap. I picked up a #6 & #7 (BD #4 and #5) for about $80ish for both after 13.5% back on Rak + the $100 back in MJ credit. If you're planning on buying something for someone else outdoor oriented, its a great way to stack a quick hundo on their site toward your next purchase. MJ credit applies to your account after the order ships, so usable later this week. You can also pick up a full single rack of Dragons via MJ $470 right now and get $235 back in credit (plus 13.5% from Rak), that DMM #0-#5 (I think it works out to like .4-3 in BD sizing but dont quote me on that). |
