Nick Cwrote: Totally classic vid. Engaging and suspenseful. Better than Free Solo. Two men pushed to the brink on the Regular Route of Fairview Dome (5.9). This video changed my perspective on climbing and life in general. I can't imagine how that video could have been more perfect. Sometimes I get this feeling after hours of scouring through completely uninteresting content on MP that I am looking for SOMETHING, some perfect thing that will make my life better. This video is THAT thing. Holy jesus that was good. |

This was not awesome Same route and also not awesome in a very different way |

Schuyler Baerwrote: I don't see the problem with the first video. He fiddles with gear and hangs, so what? |

Yeah, I didn't make it through either of those videos because there wasn't enough Not Awesome to keep my attention. That's actually the exact crack I started learning to jam on. I was smart enough to not film my fumbling, but I'm not going to judge somebody for starting the same place I did. Maybe something terrible happens in the parts of the videos I didn't watch, but it seems like they were both beginner leaders on a climb appropriate to their skill level. |

Austin Donisanwrote: Yeah, jamming makes that route a easier than they made it look. Bold dude to go to T-Wall in the summer. |

Austin Donisanwrote: Other than the nauseating horrible GoPro footage... |

First guy was so bad he was painful to watch. Way out of his depth on the climb and looked like he had no business being on it. |

|
Austin Donisanwrote: He was so gripped that he placed like 3 pieces within a couple feet of each other throughout the entire route. I just don't know why you would upload that to youtube. Both of them made the route look really, really hard. |

Schuyler Baerwrote: nice use of powercams |

Austin Donisanwrote: Are stoppers not allowed on the T wall or something? So many perfect placements and he just uses his cams like big expensive, and less effective, nuts instead. |
|
|
haha no, they're allowed. I mean yeah that route eats gear, sooo many placement opportunities (think I've placed a pink tricam on that route just for fun). If he was huffing & puffing that much w/ cams then probably didn't feel super confident taking the time to place nuts. |

christoph benellswrote: Obviously the fall is roped but... Is my man actually free soloing in this video or is there a rope that I can't see? |
|
|
Does this count? Free solo swag, swinging backpack coils, "this is the only way," and endless pontificating. |
|

Big Redwrote: Funny, someone next to him had a rope. Maybe the ice over there was better. |

Big Redwrote: I disagree, I think it's decent. |
